Robert Cahill

Robert was born in King Edward Memorial Hospital in November 1936. In his early years, he attended Kensington Primary School in South Perth and resided with his mother’s parents in Vista Street. The family then moved to his father’s mother’s house in Wellington Street, Perth, where he continued his schooling at Thomas Street School.

Listen to Ken recall, at 9 years of age, the streets of Perth when the end of WWII was announced. He talks about the atmosphere and one particular incident involving his Aunty Lecia and an American soldier.
